Having a horse is fun, but a major responsibility, so be thorough on your research of barns to board it at. It pays to choose a place that is close to where you live, has facilities that are well maintained and most importantly, gives its horses proper care and nutrition. Each barn has its own atmosphere, is it one you can live with? If you want to participate in horse shows, it may be a good idea to choose a barn that frequents the kinds of shows you want to be in. If you live in a cold climate, make sure the barn has a large indoor arena for winter riding.

Do you ride English or Western? If English is your thing, then make sure your barn has jumps available, and/or a dressage ring. I ride English, and my barn had a top show trainer in it, so if I needed to prepare for a show, he was there to critique my riding during lessons. I liked boarding my horse at a place with a competent, experienced trainer, one that took the time to explain the exercises and gave me quality instruction. Since I spent most of my money at this sport, I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right.

If you ride Western, make sure there are trails to ride on nearby your barn. And again, find a barn that has a trainer suited to your style of riding in order to get the proper instruction. Once you find a barn you like, whatever style you ride, spend time taking lessons there before buying a horse, just to get a feel of the place. If you haven’t found a horse yet, trainers can assist you in looking. Ask around, and tell them how much you are looking to spend on your first horse. Another great way to find a horse is during the summer, many young horse owners are getting ready to go off to college and need to sell their animal fast. This is a good bargaining time, if the seller is motivated, you may talk the price down on his horse. Have them throw in the tack (saddle, bridle, etc) too, as part of the bargain. When I sold my horse to go to college, I gladly gave the buyers (a well maintained show barn) all my tack since I knew he was going to be in good hands. It pays to ask about the tack, to save on money, since having a horse is very expensive any way you look at it.

Make sure the horse is healthy before committing to buying it. This is incredibly important. Make sure to have a vet look it over, and tell you what condition he is in. Are his legs sound? Has he ever been lame? Has he had all his shots, and is he disease-free? Also, make sure there are no growths on his ears. A friend of mine bought an expensive show horse, only to find out he had skin cancer on one of his ears. One of his ears had to be partially removed, it was really sad. Make sure the animal is completely sound and has a personality you can live with.

One way to try out horse ownership is to lease a horse from its owner. Most barns have horses that are up for lease, you can even get a half or quarter lease sometimes. Then, you help with the bills of the horse, but are not fully responsible for it. You work out with the owner, and anyone who may be sharing the lease with you, what days you will ride. That is a great solution if you have limited time, because owning a horse, even when boarded at a show stable, is still very time consuming. You must groom, saddle, ride, unsaddle, wash then clean its feet every time you ride. And, I used to let my horse out into the paddocks and wait for him to have fun kicking up his heels every day, instead of paying extra to have the trainer do it for me. I spent at least four hours every afternoon at my stable since he was my full responsibility, I owned him so his well-being was totally up to me alone. The barn workers fed the horses, mucked stalls and kept the grounds up. I kept the horse clean, healthy and happy, as well as my tack spotlessly maintained.

Keep in mind, horses have other bills that must be paid, such as vet bills (worming, shots, etc) and farrier (horseshoes, hoof trimming, etc). These must be done on a regular schedule and not ignored. Taking good care of your horse’s feet is of major importance so never skimp on cleaning or trimming them. Also, buy shampoo and other grooming products online to save money. If you don’t have a locker in your barn, get a caddy to hold your grooming supplies, and keep it in the back of your car. Leaving it out in the open at the barn invites trouble, in the form of others “borrowing” things and forgetting to put them back, so it’s best to have a locking trunk or keep the caddy in the back of your car.

If you plan to show your horse, ask your barn how much they charge to use their horse trailer. Most barns will haul the horse for you, for the asking, as long as they have enough trailer space for all the horses going to the show. Showing is addictive. Start at a small, local show and see how you like it. Then, if you do well and enjoy yourself, work your way up to bigger shows. Going to a horse show is a enjoyable family event. Many people bring picnics to watch the show as their children ride. If you win a prize, it’s a bonus, but do it for the sheer pleasure of it all. If you show, make sure to wear the appropriate clothing and boots. Advance preparation of both the rider and horse is the key to a successful day of horse showing.

Once you and your horse are settled in and know each other, you will make a good team and build on your experiences together. Bring him treats, talk to him and give kind approval so he learns to trust you. My horse used to whinny whenever he saw me walking towards him. We were buddies and I used to make him carrot cake every New Year’s Day (he was a Thoroughbred and all registered Thoroughbreds share the birthday of January first, whether they were born on that day or not). He plowed through that cake in minutes flat and looked for more. We were a great team and I’ll never forget him. These little things make the relationship you have with your horse all the more special. Owning a horse is a special privelege so enjoy each and every day with him. Grow together, learn new things, and both your lives will be enriched and happy. I highly recommend it.

The Horses are mentioned in the Bible 175 times and in the Quran three times, i.e., the Bible cites the Horses 58 times more than the Quran does.

Furthermore, the total words of the Bible are 788,280 while the total words of the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible has the likely of more than 10 times than the Quran word-wise to talk about the Horses. In addition, the Bible has the prospective of more than 58 times than the Quran topic-wise to utter about the Horses.

The Horses in the Bible:

What the Lord says about the Horses?

•	I killed your young men with the sword, along with your captured Horses.

•	I will destroy your Horses from among you

•	I will strike every Horse with panic and its rider with madness

•	I will blind all the Horses of the nations.

The LORD will bring a terrible plague on your Horses and donkeys

Kill the Horses, The Lord commanded Joshua and David.

A sword is against Horses.

Exodus 9:3

The hand of the LORD will bring a terrible plague on your livestock in the field—on your Horses and donkeys and camels and on your cattle and sheep and goats.

Joshua 11:6

The LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, because by this time tomorrow I will hand all of them over to Israel, slain. You are to hamstring their Horses and burn their chariots.”

Joshua 11:9

Joshua did to them as the LORD had directed: He hamstrung their Horses and burned their chariots.

2 Samuel 8:4

David captured a thousand of his chariots, seven thousand charioteers and twenty thousand foot soldiers. He hamstrung all but a hundred of the chariot Horses.

1 Kings 20:21

The king of Israel advanced and overpowered the Horses and chariots and inflicted heavy losses on the Arameans.

2 Kings 23:11

He removed from the entrance to the temple of the LORD the Horses that the kings of Judah had dedicated to the sun. They were in the court near the room of an official named Nathan-Melech. Josiah then burned the chariots dedicated to the sun.

Jeremiah 50:37

A sword against her Horses and chariots and all the foreigners in her ranks! They will become women. A sword against her treasures! They will be plundered.

Jeremiah 51:21

With you I shatter Horse and rider; with you I shatter chariot and driver,

Amos 4:10

“I sent plagues among you as I did to Egypt. I killed your young men with the sword, along with your captured Horses. I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camps, yet you have not returned to me,” declares the LORD.

Micah 5:10

“In that day,” declares the LORD, “I will destroy your Horses from among you and demolish your chariots.

Habakkuk 3:8

Were you angry with the rivers, O LORD ? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode with your Horses and your victorious chariots?

Haggai 2:22

I will overturn royal thrones and shatter the power of the foreign kingdoms. I will overthrow chariots and their drivers; Horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.

Zechariah 12:4

On that day I will strike every Horse with panic and its rider with madness,” declares the LORD. “I will keep a watchful eye over the house of Judah, but I will blind all the Horses of the nations.

Zechariah 14:15

A similar plague will strike the Horses and mules, the camels and donkeys, and all the animals in those camps.

Horses of fire

2 Kings 2:11

“…suddenly a chariot of fire and Horses of fire appeared …”

2 Kings 6:17

“…the hills full of Horses and chariots of fire all around…”

The Horses’ hoofs thundered, trample and seem like flint

Judges 5:22

Then thundered the Horses’ hoofs— galloping, galloping go his mighty steeds.

The Horses’ hoofs seem like flint

Ezekiel 26:11

The hoofs of his Horses will trample all your streets; he will kill your people with the sword, and your strong pillars will fall to the ground.

Isaiah 5:28

“…their Horses’ hoofs seem like flint, their chariot wheels like a whirlwind.”

The Horse has no understanding

Psalm 32:9

Do not be like the Horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.

This verse contradicts with the concept of the biologists who say that the Horse is an intelligent animal and understands.

The Horse is a vain hope for deliverance

Psalm 33:17

“A Horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.”

When God of Jacob rebuke, the Horse lie still

Psalm 76:6

At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both Horse and chariot lie still.

His pleasure is not in the Horse, nor in the legs of a man

Psalm 147:10

His pleasure is not in the strength of the Horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man;

A whip for the Horse and a rod for the fools!

Proverbs 26:3

A whip for the Horse, a halter for the donkey, and a rod for the backs of fools!

Slaves on Horseback! Why not?

Ecclesiastes 10:7

I have seen slaves on Horseback, while princes go on foot like slaves.

Where is this land?

Isaiah 2:7

Their land is full of silver and gold; there is no end to their treasures. Their land is full of Horses; there is no end to their chariots.

Discover the Egyptians

Isaiah 31:3

But the Egyptians are men and not God; their Horses are flesh and not spirit.

Moreover, the Egyptians genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of Horses (Look at the very clear-cut description).

Ezekiel 23:20

There she lusted after her lovers (the Egyptians), whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of Horses.

Read my comment at article of Donkey

The Horses are swifter than eagles and leopards

The Horses are fiercer than wolves

Jeremiah 4:13

His Horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us! We are ruined!

Habakkuk 1:8

Their Horses are swifter than leopards, fiercer than wolves at dusk

I will leave these two verses that contradict with sciences for the biologists to interpret them better than me.

At the sound of Horsemen every town takes to flight and they are cruel and without mercy. The sound is like roaring sea or thunder.

Jeremiah 4:29

At the sound of Horsemen and archers every town takes to flight. Some go into the thickets; some climb up among the rocks. All the towns are deserted; no one lives in them.

Jeremiah 50:42

They are armed with bows and spears; they are cruel and without mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride on their Horses;

Revelation 9:9

They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many Horses and chariots rushing into battle.

The whole valley where dead bodies and ashes

Jeremiah 31:40

The whole valley where dead bodies and ashes are thrown, and all the terraces out to the Kidron Valley on the east as far as the corner of the Horse Gate, will be holy to the LORD. The city will never again be uprooted or demolished.”

How do the Horses look like? Locusts, human, or lions

Jeremiah 51:27

“…Send up Horses like a swarm of locusts.”

Revelation 9:7

“The locusts looked like Horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces.”

Joel 2:4

They have the appearance of Horses; they gallop along like cavalry.

Revelation 9:17

The Horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the Horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur.

Eat the Horses, The Lord commands

Ezekiel 39:20

At my table you will eat your fill of Horses and riders, mighty men and soldiers of every kind,’ declares the Sovereign LORD.

The Horses trampled the sea

Habakkuk 3:15

You trampled the sea with your Horses, churning the great waters.

The colors of the Horses: red, brown and white, black, fiery red, and pale

Zechariah 1:8

a man riding a red Horse! Behind him were red, brown and white Horses.

Zechariah 6:2

The first chariot had red Horses, the second black,

Zechariah 6:6 dappled Horses

Revelation 6:2 a white Horse

Revelation 6:4

Then another Horse came out, a fiery red one.

Revelation 6:5

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black Horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.

Revelation 6:8

I looked, and there before me was a pale Horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

How to make Horses obedient?

James 3:3

When we put bits into the mouths of Horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.

The power of the Horses was in their mouths and in their tails

Revelation 9:19

The power of the Horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.

Examples of the Mercy:

Blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the Horses’ bridles

Revelation 14:20

They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the Horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.

Revelation 19:11

[The Rider on the White Horse] I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white Horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.

Revelation 19:14

The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white Horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.

Revelation 19:19

Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the Horse and his army.

Revelation 19:21

The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the Horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

The Horses in the Quran:

Surah 3:14

Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: women and sons; heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; Horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. Such are the possessions of this world’s life; but in nearness to Allah is the best of the goals (to return to).

Allah made man love women, sons, gold, silver; Horses, cattle, and well-tilled land. This meaning of inherited human behavior and tradition is not mentioned in the Bible.

Surah 8:60

Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the Cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.

This is a prophylactic verse to prevent wars between nations.

Be ready with all of your power, and then your enemies will be afraid of you.

No doubt that USA is the first country following this verse.

Surah 16:8

And (He has created) Horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He Creates (other) things of which ye have no knowledge.

Allah Creates what we do not know.

This verse preceded the sciences at any time, now and in the future.

I know all of the work and expenses that are included. I have been researching Friesians, I know expensive right, but I believe they are worth the money. Please any Friesian owners out there tell me about owning one first hand and if it would make a good first time horse?

His pleasure is not in the strength of the Horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man;

They are armed with bows and spears; they are cruel and without mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride on their Horses;

This article will look at how you can profit from handicap racing, plus I will cover the differences between handicap racing and conditions racing, as not everyone will know the difference.

In fact the writing of this article came about from a request from one of my members, and so I thought that maybe you would also benefit from looking at how handicap racing differs from conditional racing, and how not knowing the difference could potentially cost you money.

Confusion Can Lead To Disaster So Don’t Make These Mistakes

As you may know, I am a real advocate of information being power when it comes to betting on horse racing. So with that said, if you want to drastically improve your chances of taking money from the bookmakers with your racing tips, you need to arm yourself with as much quality and relevant information as possible.

And this is where some novice punters fall at the first fence (pardon the pun), because before you place any cash on a horse you need to make sure that you know what kind of race you are betting on. That is to say, is it a handicap race or a conditions race?

And if you’ve been to watch live racing before, then you’ll know what its like. If you haven’t by the way, you really should its a great day out, and this will explain what you can expect when you go for the first time.

You’re looking at the different races and who’s riding on what. You get to the parade ring and there are already whispers going around about this horse and that horse. It’s easy to be influenced by what you hear. And everyone thinks they’re an expert when it comes to horse racing tips don’t they?

And so with all the jargon and gossip that you hear at the racecourse, is it any wonder that punters end up getting thoroughly confused, and betting on a horse simply because they like the name, the way it walks, the colour of the jockey’s silks or because they overheard someone in the pub mention that it had a chance?

I’ve seen it many, many times, but the truth is it doesn’t have to be like that it really doesn’t.

Your Horse Racing Tips Are Useless If You Don’t Know This

So the key is having a bit of background knowledge, even just the basics, which will enable you to get started. This will ensure that you are a bit more savvy than the average punter, and therefore you will have a little advantage that will hopefully give you that edge over the bookmakers.

So having given you that bold statement, what are the most important factors to consider when betting on horses? Of course, there are many, many variables that affect the outcome of a horse race, and there’s no way that I could cover all of them in this article, but let’s start with one of the fundamentals of horse racing. Handicapping.

This could be perhaps the biggest error that punters make, as they have no idea what kind of race they are betting on. In the UK, all races come under one of two categories. The first category is a handicap race, and the second one is called a conditions race.

The reason that distinguishing between these two different classes of race is important, is because the bookies pay different amounts on each-way bets gained in the two different types of race.

So for example, in a handicap race of less than 16 runners, you are paid one-quarter the odds on the first three finishers for an each way bet. You are also paid for the first four places in a handicap with 16 or more runners, so this in itself is worth knowing.

In conditions races however, you are only ever paid one-fifth the odds for finishing in the first three places, so can you see where I am coming from now? It’s crucial to be able to tell what type of race you are betting on.

Handicapping Explained

Essentially the handicap that I’m referring to, is additional weight that is allocated to a horse based upon its ability. The better the horse, then in theory the greater the weight that is carries compared to its fellow horses. This is done so that each horse potentially has an equal chance of winning the race.

The British Horseracing Board meets each week to look at each qualifying horses form and to assess its rating. Not every horse in the UK qualifies for a handicap. At the time of writing this, a flat horse for example must have either won a race, or participated in three races, to enable the handicapper the opportunity to look at the horse’s form.

To the layman, the details of the ratings system may be a bit confusing, but essentially it boils down to the higher the rating, the better the horse. Of course, the reason that we don’t just go and lump our money on the best rated horse is that it will be carrying the most weight, so from our point of view as punters, the key is to loom at the weight as just one factor of a horse’s potential in winning a race.

It doesn’t need to be any more complicated than this to being with. You now have some background knowledge of the differences between handicap races and conditions races and I hope this will stand you good stead when looking at the list of races in the paper tomorrow.

Help answer the question about Horse
What kind of horse gait is it called when the horse walks like a soldier?
I recently bought a gaited horse and I have seen her do all her goodies. The other day I seen one of her trots that I have seen on other horses, but don't know how to get her to do it.

Every since the advent of the internet, the World Wide Web has opened up many opportunities for people who want to bet on the horses. You have the choice of using the human element in a horse racing tipster, or a horse racing software package, but how they compare?

The purpose of this article is to assess the differences and benefits of these two different means of obtaining horse racing tips. Certainly there are many options available online now and I do get asked regularly which system works the best, so I’ll run through this with you now.

No Such Thing As A Dead Cert

Of course, the first thing I must state is that there is no one method that can ever guarantee you selecting a winning horse. Certainly, there are ways to make a more informed choice of which horse to bet on, which means that you have a better chance of winning – the aim of every gambler at the end of the day.

However, with so many different ways to get advice about betting on horses, there are many people who are now confused as to what the difference is in terms of the benefits between a horse racing tipster service and other software horse racing systems.

Horse Racing Tipster vs Software

Well, simply put and to look at the fundamental aims of each, essentially a horse racing tipster service, horse racing software or any horse racing system all aim to achieve the same thing.

Achieving winners or at the very least eliminating horses that are not suitable to back is a process that takes into account many factors, and so the principal difference between the three aids is basically the way in which they help you formulate your selections.

For example, a horse racing tipster service will generally come up with their top selections by interpreting previous racing statistics together with additional background information that they may have on the horses, racecourse, jockeys, trainers and other associated factors.

In a sense this can become a very scientific approach and it can be as detailed as you want it to be. I tend to look at the items listed above and see what looks favourable. It is possible to get what is known as ‘analysis paralysis’ in this business, so over analysing of information, although often tempting, is not recommended.

Does Racing Software work?

Essentially, if you purchase any of the horse racing software products on the market (and there are a lot), the hope is that you will be getting the same results as a horse racing tipster in terms of analysis, but that you will be getting the information yourself and therefore you must interpret the data yourself to make your own selections.

There is also some doubt as to the accuracy of how a piece of software can fully assess all the relevant factors than are involved in successfully betting on horses, and this is just one of the reasons why people prefer to use a horse racing tipster service.

Garbage In Garbage Out

Of course, neither can be right one hundred percent of the time, it would be foolish to think so, but it is widely recognised that generally tipster services have a better chance of correctly predicting the outcomes of races. I suppose that this is because of the human element. Software relies on the information that you put into it just like a computer does, so if the information is wrong, not accurate or out of date then the end result will mirror that.

In racing, information is ever changing and factors such as the weather which affects the going of a race, a change in jockeys that are riding particular horses, and a horse’s health or recent training performances are capable of affecting the result of a race.

The better racing tipsters out there who do this for a living will generally have a firm grasp of what they are looking for and what is happening in the industry, while a software program does not have this ability of reasoning.

This is why many feel that a horse racing system based upon a software program simply cannot accurately predict a race winner, whereas a racing tipster can look at all of the up to date factors subjectively, and try to give an accurate assessment of the likely winner of a race.

There are numerous types of horse racing bettings which are included in the horse races. Horse race is a very popular sport nowadays. You can select a team of your favorite horses and bet on them, so as to earn some handsome cash prizes. The entire sport is full of thrill and excitement. Most of the people that visit the horse race fields enjoy the entire race to the fullest, by drinking, celebrating and cheering their horses.
Various types of the horse racing bettings are mentioned below. If you are a beginner, then this information would prove to be very useful for you. You can even use an <a rel=”external nofollow” target=”_blank” href=”http://www.fpsystem.co.uk/”>online horse racing betting system like the F P systems, if you are new to the horse racing.
1. Win: the win is the first type of the horse betting. Betting with the win type is very simple. You have to choose a horse that is capable of winning the race. If the horse wins the race by landing up in the first position, then you would win the jackpot amount.
2. Place: In the Place type of horse race betting, you have to choose the horse that is capable of coming second in the horse race. If your chosen horse comes second or lands up first in the race, then you would win your bet.
3. Show: In the show type of horse race betting, you have to choose a horse that is capable of winning the third position in the race. If your horse wins the race by landing into first, second or third position, you would win your bet.
4. Across the Board: Across the Board is one of the most admired types of horse race bettings. In this type of horse race betting, you are allowed to choose a horse that can land into either the first, second or third position in the horse race. By selecting this option, you are actually playing three bets in one particular horse race. Therefore, you can win the bet whether your horse lands into first, second or third position.
5. Exacta: Exacta is a very difficult type of horse race betting. Here you have to quote an exact bet on the horses and even make an exact guess on their winning positions. Exacta is not preferred by most of the punters.
6. Quinella: In the Quinella type of horse race betting, you are allowed to bet on two horses. And if whichever one the two horses that you have chosen, comes first and other in the second position, you would win your bet.
7. Trifecta: here, you have to choose three horses and also guess their order to come in the first, second and third position. If your guess in correct, you win your bet.

Horses make wonderful pets that are intelligent and loving; however they are also a great responsibility. Horses need care and maintenance everyday; from food and health to training, daily exercises and creating a stable for it to rest in.

Who Uses Horse Boarding Facilities?

It is not always that horse owners bring their horses to horse boarding due to an emergency, if they only have one horse they also like boarding facitities especially in order for the horse to mingle with other horses. Horse boarding offers many facilities such as breeding your mare, riding with other horses and for the owners meeting and chatting with other horse owners where you can exchange notes on your horse activities, health, training or other issues of interest.

Some horse owners however, only appeal to the services of a horse boarding facility in case of an emergency such as when the whole family has to travel together or in the unfortunate case of a hospitalization. Whatever your case, it is important to locate a horse boarding near you as sooner or later you will need one especially if you have only one horse.

Where to Find Horse Boarding Facilities

Look online where you will find the most horse boarding facilities listed. However, if you live in a smaller town where folks may have not listed their facility on the web yet, you can ask local horse enthusiasts or check the papers for the same. It is essential you find a horse boarding facility near you so you can have access to your horse as often as you would like to as well as be able to leave your horse in case of an emergency.

Helpful Tip

Your horse will need to mingle with other horses sooner or later for breeding as well as for his or her own good health rather than be secluded so, locating a horse boarding and taking your horse there regularly would be good for your horse and you as well.

Quarter Horse seems like a strange name for an animal, but only until you understand that Quarter horses are able to run a quarter mile faster than any other horse can run the same distance (in some situations, a Quarter Horse has been recorded at over 50 miles per hour while running at full speed), then its given name makes good sense. In part, that is a testament to the horse’s athletic ability, along with its strong, well-muscled hind legs.
Combine versatility and an even temper with those characteristics (athleticism and muscle structure) and you can see why Quarter Horses are some of the most popular choices among those who are buying from a list of horses for sale. Not only is the American Quarter Horse common with a lot of general buyers, but the breed is popular overall; the majority of horses registered worldwide are registered with the American Quarter Horse Association.

Of the registered Quarter Horses, many run races thanks to their speed. Many others are participants in horse shows. Others work on ranches around the world. Still others – thanks to the Quarter Horse’s compact body – are used in working with cows, calf roping, barrel racing, reining, cutting as well as other riding events. But don’t think of the Quarter Horse as merely a workhorse: the Quarter Horse is equally at home in other equestrian events.

Sport and speed both create environments in which the American Quarter Horse feels at home. With Thoroughbred, Arabian and Morgan bloodlines all contributing to the genetic pool of the American Quarter Horse, it’s not difficult to see why the Quarter Horse excels in most situations.

Because of this, the American Quarter Horse is often seen in show environments, in racing events, in rodeos as well as on the ranch, and even in stables that are home to horses that are owned by individuals and families, who just want a horse that they can take out for enjoyable rides on trails. It’s important to note, however that just because Quarter Horses are used for ranch working purposes as well as for trail riding doesn’t mean that they don’t serve other purposes as well; for example, many quarter horses have been used for dressage and for jumping competitions.

As with anything else in life, not all Quarter Horses are created equal. Most grow to between 14 and 16 hands high with some growing to 17 hands. Stock Quarter Horses are agile and muscled, however they appear to be compact and a bit stocky. Halter Quarter Horses, on the other hand tend to be taller and have similar smooth muscling to the Thoroughbred.

Regardless of whether or not the horses are of the stock or halter variety, you’re likely to discover that Quarter Horses are available in a wide variety of colors. Most commonly, you’ll find them listed as sorrel – a brownish-red, chestnut brown shade. That, however, doesn’t mean that you won’t find Quarter Horses listed that are described as black, bay, gray, dun, palomino, red roan or a number of other shades. All of these colors – along with spotted or pinto colors – are found to be acceptable when it comes time to register a horse with the American Quarter Horse Association, provided the horse’s parents were registered as well.

If you are looking for a family horse, lineage and registration with the American Quarter Horse Association may not be among your top priorities when you’re looking through listings of horses for sale. Instead, you may be focused on a child’s request for “a brown one,” or on finding a Quarter Horse that is closer to 14 hands rather than 16 or 17, which will make it easier for even the youngest members of your family to ride.

On the other hand, if you are looking for an American Quarter Horse because you are looking for the right animal to help you around the ranch, when it comes to reigning in cattle, you may actually want to know whether or not the Quarter Horse is from a working line.

In other words, when you’re making an effort to research Quarter Horses for any purpose, focus on your needs first and foremost. You will be more likely to find a Quarter Horse that will meet your expectations if you know what your expectations really are. This way you are sure to find exactly the Quarter Horse you need and want.

His pleasure is not in the strength of the Horse, nor his delight in the legs of a man;

They are armed with bows and spears; they are cruel and without mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride on their Horses;

Back to the main issue of my series of articles; this is my question to you smart readers: “Is the Quran quoted from the Bible”?

CUBRIR YEGUA PARA CRIA
Help answer the question about Horse
How much time should I spend with my horse?
I just bought my first horse, and she is being broke right now to ride and has already been ridden and is great with ground manners. I am a full time worker and was wondering how some of you fit time for your horse if you work an 8-5, and if it's bad if you only see your horse 2-3 times a week? Like many full time white collar workers I get the weekends off, and would be close to my horse so I may only be able to spend 1 or 2 horse twice a week during my work week, but all day on the 2 days I have off. Any suggestions? I just want my horse to feel loved and not hate me or forget her training because I'm not seeing her every single day. All suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

There is so much excitement and anticipation in the very art of buying a horse. It is certainly a task not to be taken lightly. A horse is certainly not as easy to drop off at your local shelter as a cat is. When you buy a horse it should be genuine, not a spur of the moment whim.

The biggest consideration when buying a horse is where to keep him. Investigating local stables and yards, finding out the fee and what you are paying for is an important step to make the transition easier. I have yet to find a stable that pays for horse shoeing, unless it is on their horses!

Once you’ve settled on a place to keep your horse, you can then indulge yourself in finding a good horse. Horses are easy enough to come by, but not all horses are alike. We know that all horses bite, it is a fact horse owners rarely think about. However when buying a horse it is a tidbit to keep handy.

Some horses due to cruel handling, neglect or an aggressive streak will bite. Biting is a bad habit called a vice, horses that bite do not make a good first horse purchase. There is fact in the saying “once bitten twice shy”!

Read up on vices so you know one when you see one and if the current owner says the horse crib bites, you’ll know what that means and whether it is a vice you can live with. Remember the horse is yours and will be your responsibility once you purchase it.

Like humans you have horses in good health and others in questionable health. Some owners will try to sell a horse when they find out his health is less than perfect. The horse could have been in a field and cut his leg. Seems like an every day possibility but depending on where and how severe the cut, he could have done permanent damage. He would thus have a weakness and be prone to lameness.

It is always a good idea to have a veterinarian inspect the horse you want to purchase. That way any possibility of ill health can be brought to your attention and you are in control of taking on the responsibility or not.

Find out if people know about the horse and let them tell you their view of the horse. What is he like on an every day basis when a prospective buyer is not looking? Some horses are lunged to tire them out before a buyer comes to ride…

Yes, riding is sure a very important step when buying a horse! I was so desperate to buy my first horse that I overlooked this step and regretted it every day of the two years I owned the horse. Sometimes you can simply get sold by the look of a horse…

Make sure you buy a good horse that is right for you. The best way to do that is to read and gain knowledge of horses. Take a trainer or experienced horse person with you, but be sure to trust your instinct and have the knowledge to make the best decision for you. Turns out the person I took with me to buy my first horse was really looking for something they wanted.

Help answer the question about Horse
What is the strangest thing your horse likes to eat?
I'm just curious. We all know they love apples, carrots, grain, peppermints, etc, but what are some strange things your horse(s) like to eat?
My horse particularly loves a good piece of baclava but really any baked good she smells she goes crazy for. She tried a hamburger once at a show but didn't like it much, haha

I also know my friend's horse enjoys a good chicken sandwich if it's available.
